Ancient Wisdom Centered Leadership: How a 2500-Year-Old Philosophy Taught an Island Nation to be Resilient

In this session Sahan will share how a 2,500-year-old philosophy enabled a small island nation to withstand 21 foreign invasions, 2 devastating tsunamis, a communist uprising and a 30-year-old civil war… and how this same philosophy might help modern leaders to thrive amidst a pandemic by cultivating compassion, empathetic joy and an equanimous mindset; a mindset that’s free from fear & regret.

As the founder of Resilience Within, Sahan brings insights & tools from ancient wisdom traditions and modern day neuroscience based emotional intelligence to leaders in corporate, government, healthcare and non-profit sectors. Through his philanthropic initiatives he tries to alleviate the suffering of cancer patients & prisoners (including death row and life) in Sri Lanka by introducing them to custom made mindfulness based stress management programs.
